Dr. Larry W. Warner Jr. (B.S., Louisiana State University; M.D., Ross University) is the founder and chief medical officer of Collaborative Minds. After completing medical school in 2006, he completed his residency in psychiatry at LSU-Ochsner in New Orleans in 2011, where he was named Resident of the Year in psychiatry in 2007. Prior to opening his private practice, Dr. Warner served as the staff psychiatrist at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales, and continues to hold privileges at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Hospital in Baton Rouge.
Dr. Warner is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association, and is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Warner’s area of expertise includes the psychopharmacological treatment of mental illnesses including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, psychosis, attention deficit disorders and comorbidities of psychiatric illness with substance abuse. In the wider community, he also serves as a mentor to young people and students, encouraging them at all stages of their careers.
Shantell Burns (B.S., LSU and A&M College; BSN, Our Lady of the Lake; MSN, University of South Alabama) is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She specializes in the diagnosis and pharmacological treatment of patients suffering from various mental illnesses including ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and psychotic disorders. She has worked in nursing for over ten years, with further specialization in mental health, which has provided her with extensive experience in mental health treatment.
Mrs. Burns is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society as well as several professional organizations including the American Nurses Association (ANA), the Louisiana State Nurses Association (LSNA), and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA). Alongside her work at Collaborative Minds, Mrs. Burns is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) at the University of South Alabama.
